PPL 34 Highlights

Unbelievable action early doors left Si licking his wounds.  When the flop came   6-A-9, a raise from Ben was called by Si.  The 4 on the turn was again strongly bet by Ben, but a suspicious Si again called.  The river came an A and Ben fired a third Bullet with the rest of his chips.  Si didn't have to think long and called flipping over his trip Aces.  Ben however had Si crushed with his nines full of ace's.  Si's night was effectively over.

Some steady play from the remaining players followed but Kev seemed to be gaining an advantage.  Dave was next to succumb and then Ben the original chip leader fell after pushing with K 8 with a king on the flop but, with Kev calling with K 9, Ben's night was over.

So 'The Prodigy' returned and it didn't take long heads-up before he'd added another victory to his record. 

 

PPL 33 - Resurrection

PPL 33 Highlights

Another short handed affair which became even shorter when the first hand saw Dave crash out!  Dave raised stong pre-flop with pocket deuces, only to be called by Si.  An Ace came down on the flop but this didn't slow Dave down and he fired at the flop, turn and the river, representing a massive hand.  However Si wasn't having any of it and had no problem calling him down and showed he had the goods (AK). 

Si continued from then on, using his huge chip advantage to great effect, and Kev hit the rail without really getting into the game. 

So for two weeks running Si and the Answer found themselves heads-up and this weeks result evened the score with Si, who never really broke a sweat throughout the game, taking the maximum ten points. 

 

PPL 32 - Unfinished Business

PPL 32 Highlights

This short handed game didn't disappoint and dramatically opened the door for a seige on The Prodigy's 2nd place spot. 

Following last weeks marathon victory, The Sheikh got busy but found himself card dead when it mattered and was first to go.

Si's early patience was rewarded with several premium hands in succession.  Kev... the 2nd casualty of the evening found himself very much the shortstack 3 handed and when Si limped from the SB, Kev pushed from the BB with his remaining 2500 chips with J 5 off....only for Si to insta-call and flip over the Bullet's!  Si set the trap perfectly and Kev took the bait... a great play from Si. 

'White Stick' (aka The Answer) who had gradually, thoughout the whole game, played his way into the chip lead, still held the advantage heads-up.  But when Si raised, Ben came over the top with a re-raise and Si called.....we knew we were in for fireworks!  Si rightfully pushed in after his AQ paired with a Q on the board.  Ben Missed the flop but called with his AK diamonds.  It looked a certainty that Ben would be crippled but the river came to his rescue.  The 10 came, making Ben a straight, and Si's onslaught came to a brutal end.

So another great win for The Answer means 2nd place is now back within reach if results go his way.  Si is only 9 points off the 2nd spot and as The Prodigy can't attend next weeks game, its going to be interesting to see how much ground can be made.
